Echum
Overview
The Echum project lies adjacent and along trend of Alamos Gold’s Island Gold Mine property, one of the highest-grade gold mines in Canada. Echum hosts several gold occurrences and an extensive deformation zone, with geological structures trending south from Alamos’ tenure.
Geophysics
A limited aerial VTEM survey covering approximately 30% of the project area was completed in 2021, identifying several conductors as potential targets. The largest VTEM conductor was subsequently investigated using three lines of Induced Polarization to outline drill targets.
2023 Drilling
Two shallow drill holes were completed in 2023 into a large VTEM target, encountering wide zones of massive and disseminated sulphides (pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite, pyrite, sphalerite) with intense quartz veining, including smoky quartz.
This core composition is reminiscent of zones at the Island Gold Mine.
